Community Concert Series returns Oct. 25th to Victoria

The next free musical event of the Lunenburg County Community Concert Series will feature “Lunenburg Ladies” and is set for Friday, Oct. 25th, at 7:00 p.m. at Victoria Baptist Church.

The free event will feature three sets of “Lunenburg Ladies.” Jenny Martin Clark (guitar & vocals) will be joined by Beth Bagley on several songs.

Stacy Sharpe Branch (piano) with Susan Casoni (cello) will present a set of instrumental duets.

Susan’s mother, Caroline Shaw, will also contribute her piano talents, and Central High School student Messiah Lee will provide vocals on “Hello” (made popular by Adele).

The post-intermission set will feature Liz Yon Hamlett (vocals) with a mixed set of secular and sacred songs. There may even be an audience singalong option at the end.

Pre-concert piano music, provided by Stacy Sharpe Branch, will begin at 6:40 p.m. for the enjoyment of those who arrive early.

The Pregnancy Support Center of Southside Virginia will be “In the Spotlight.” A representative will be present to share information. The church is located at 1423 8th Street. Handicapped parking is available .

The Lunenburg County Community Concert series, featuring talented musicians and vocalists with local ties, began in 2017. From Broadway, bluegrass, classical, country, and folk to contemporary Christian, gospel, jazz, and soul music—the concerts typically feature a variety of music from multiple performers.
