More accolades for auctioneer from Brunswick

SOLD! Wendy Daniel Grimm Auctioneer of the Year

SOLD! Wendy Daniel Grimm Auctioneer of the Year

Wendy Daniel Grimm, Immediate Past President of the Virginia Auctioneers Association (VAA), achieved two historic honors at the 2025 Annual VAA Convention, held January 24-25 in Williamsburg.

Mrs. Grimm was crowned as the 2025 Virginia Auctioneers Association Auctioneer Champion — becoming only the second female in the association’s history to earn that prestigious title. The competition is a hallmark event showcasing participants’ expertise in bid calling, stage presence, and mastery of the craft.

On the following night, she was surprised with the honor of the Association’s Auctioneer of the Year Award. The recognition is given to an individual making “exemplary contributions to the Association and the auction profession over the past year, unselfishly representing the VAA and serving as a standout representative of the auction industry.”

Wendy, who last year made history as the first female VAA President ever elected in the association’s history, continues to break barriers in the auction industry.

She embodies the auction tradition deeply ingrained in her family’s legacy, having grown-up amidst the bustling activity of Daniel Auction Service in Brunswick County — a business her father, George Daniel, a Past-President of the Virginia Auctioneers Association himself and Hall of Fame Member, established in 1971.

As a second-generation auctioneer, Wendy’s roots in the industry run deep. I’m deeply honored to be recognized among such an incredible group of auctioneers,” she reacted. “Being the Virginia Auctioneer Champion is something I’ve worked towards for years, and I hope it inspires others — particularly women — to pursue leadership and excellence in this field.”
